2020 Is Over!

Reading Time: 2 minutes

The year is coming to an end. This year was a pretty strange year to say the least, with the discovery of an infectious disease that has led to a worldwide pandemic and lockdowns in many countries. The rampant spread of CoViD-19 has brought many challenges for many of us, may it be economically, socially, mentally, and physically. I have experienced a myriad of emotions this year, from anger at the irresponsible people spreading the disease, fear that my friends and family may be infected, However, every cloud has a silver lining and there are still many things I am grateful about this year. These are the 10 things I’m grateful for in 2020;

  1. Coming home to Malaysia during the pandemic and being able to spend quality time with my family 👨‍👩‍👧‍👦
  2. Catching up with all my close friends and continuing our friendship as if I didn’t leave for 4 years 🥲
  3. Getting to reduce my thyroid and hives medication after being on a lot of pills this year 💊
  4. Was able to consistently workout this year and I feel my health has become better (maybe?) 🏋🏻‍♀️
  5. Hitting my financial goals for the year despite the turbulent times and being able to work from home (社長ありがとう!) 👩‍💻
  6. Finally took the plunge and got Invisalign done after wanting to fix my teeth for years 🦷
  7. Upgraded my baking skills during the MCO period so much so that the sweets I make now taste the same or better than those sold at cafes *ahem*👩🏻‍🍳
  8. Started taking pole classes seriously again after being on-and-off the past few years 💃🏻
  9. Learned how to invest in the stock market and got to buy some shares for cheap during the dip 📈
  10. Maintaining a lovey-dovey relationship with my boyfriend despite the long-distance 👫🏻

Here’s to a better 2021! What are you grateful for this year?
